Preparation

Before the workshop begins, ideally you should install and familiarize yourself with starting Julia and Oscar.

To install:

• Windows users need to first install WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux)
• Install the Linux or macOS version of Julia (Windows users: the Windows version is not supported; use the Linux version via WSL)
• Install Oscar via our install instruction
• Install a programming editor with Julia syntax highlighting
  • If in doubt, try out Visual Studio Code and install the Julia Language Support package. Make sure to check out the documentation, too.

To familiarize:

• Try out some Julia tutorials
• Check out (some of) the Julia and Oscar exercises of the OSCAR Summer School 2021
